Drumkeeran Tidy Towns

Over recent months there has been a marked increase
of interest in Drumkeeran Tidy Towns.

The volunteers who came along to help out on Wednesday, 11th July

Two meetings were held in the Community Centre with a view to agreeing on a plan of action
by which improvements might be made to the general appearance of the town.

Both meetings were well attended with representatives from each street and estate
as well as from some of the local organisations and clubs.
Over thirty people agreed to take part in a bag-packing scheme in Dunnes Stores
in order to raise funds for the Tidy Towns effort..
At the second of these meetings Andrew Redican, a long time campaigner for Tidy Towns,
outlined a proposed 5-year plan for Drumkeeran.
The meeting agreed to implement some of its more achievable recommendations.
