New Church Choir

The New Drumkeeran Church Choir

sang in public for the first time

at the 11 am Mass on Sunday, 13th July.

All those attending the Mass were duly impressed
and the choir was given a spontaneous round of applause when Mass had ended.

The choir is led by Carmel O’Grady and Clodagh Redican.

This is the first time in many years that Drumkeeran has had an adult choir.
Until recent times the church choir consisted of the children’s choir
under the guidance of Mrs Carmel O’Grady.

The new choir came into being when people responded to an appeal by Fr Alwill
for volunteers to come together to explore the possibility of forming a choir.
Seventeen volunteers attended the first practice
and the membership is now over twenty.

The next practice will take place on

Monday evening, 11th August, at 9.00 pm

in Drumkeeran Church.

The choir will sing at the Drumkeeran Mass
on the third Sunday of the month,
so Sunday, August 17, is the next time they will sing.

New members are always very welcome indeed.
