Golden Jubilee Celebrations

On Friday, 27th June, three priests associated with our Deanery
celebrated the Golden Jubilees of their ordinations
with a special Mass in St Michael’s Church, Glenfarne.
Fr John O’Donnell, retired PP of Killinagh and Glangevlin,
Fr Thomas Woods, retired PP of Glenfarne,
And
Fr John Quinn, PP of Glenfarne,
were all ordained in St Patrick’s College, Maynooth,
on 21st June, 1964.
Fr John O’Donnell
A native of Kilmacrennan, Co Donegal,
Fr John taught in Cootehill Comprehensive School
and in St Clare’s Comprehensive School,
Manorhamilton.
He has also served in the parishes of Teemore, and Blacklion/Glangevlin.
Fr John Quinn
Fr John is a native of Drumreilly Upper.
Over the years he served as curate in Glenade, Kiltyclogher,
Kilsherdany, Bailieboro
and Knockbride
Since the early 1990’s he has served as PP in Knockbride and Mullagh.
He is currently PP in Glenfarne.
Fr Thomas Woods
Fr Thomas is a native of Swanlinbar, Co Cavan.
Since his ordination he served as curate in Casteltara, Kildallan, Bunnoe and Drumkilly.
In 1991 he was appointed PP in Glenfarne.
Fr Thomas retired from parish duties in 2011.

Bishop Leo O’Reilly and a a large group of priests from Kilmore diocese
attended
the Jubilee Mass in Glenfarne.
Also in attendance was Cardinal Sean Brady
who celebrated his Golden Jubilee in February
of this year.
Cardinal Sean was a classmate of Frs O’Donnell, Quinn and Woods in Maynooth
before
moving to Rome to complete his studies.
