Tidy Towns 2013

The Drumkeeran Tidy Towns campaign for 2013 got up and running
on Wednesday evening, 22
nd May.

This was a case of ‘Third Time Lucky’.

On the previous two weeks,
the work-groups had to be cancelled because of inclement weather.

On Wednesday evening the work group, under the guidance of Andrew Redican,
took on the painting of street furniture, flower boxes and tubs, and heritage gates.
They also worked on the restoration of a derelict building.

All of this communal effort greatly enhances the village

The Second Year Woodwork Class have also become involved in Tidy Towns 2013.
Under the guidance of their teacher, Mr Pat Kelly,
the students have constructed Bird Houses and Flower Boxes.

The bird houses and flower boxes were all made from waste timber,
a fine example of Waste Management.

The students presenting the bird houses to Andrew Redican, Chairperson of Drumkeeran Tidy Towns Committee
and to Gerry Gallagher, Drumkeeran Tidy Towns Committee.
