Eamon O’Grady Honoured

There was something of a surprise for Eamon O’Grady

at the Festival on Monday night, August 19.

Eamon and his wife, Carmel, were in attendance at the Festival Rose Competition.

Their grand-daughter Shannon was one of the Roses on stage.

Just before the winner of the Festival Rose was announced,
Eamon was invited up to come up to the front of the marquee
and asked to take a seat facing the stage.

There then followed a 15-minute This is Your Life presentation
highlighting the story of Eamon’s 50 years with
Drumkeeran GAA club.

As part of the presentation
club members spoke of Eamon’s enormous contribution to the club,
both as player, coach, committee member and referee.

All of Eamon’s grand-children also appeared in the presentation
congratulating their grandfather on his achievements.

Following the This is Your Life presentation
Francis Davitt made a special presentation to Eamon.
