Church Renovations
A Little Piece of History
On Friday, 19 June, construction workers on Drumkeeran Church
found a remarkable piece of history.
As they removed slates from the from the south transept
they discovered the signatures of some of the tradesman
who worked on the work on the church at the time
it was built.
The inscriptions are as follows…….
John Whittaker, Sligo
September 20th 1872
Joseph Woods, Killargue
April 11th 1882
Charles Lennox
April 11th 1882
As these men wrote their signatures
little did they think that a time could come
when
those same signatures would be read by people all over the world.
