The Christmas Season is what giving gifts is all about. Giving something to those less fortunate and not expecting anything in return.

This year a pupil of St Brigid’s NS had that very idea.

Dorothy Spurway wanted to do something for the sick children who have to spend Christmas in Sligo Regional Hospitals Children’s ward.  So Dorothy organised a collection of new toys from the pupils of the school.  Then on Monday 18 December her parents took her to Sligo hospital to deliver the toys to staff. Orla McDonagh, manager of the ward, (far right in the above picture) received the gifts and showed Dorothy and her brother Connor the toy therapy room.  Orla also explained how the gifts would be handed out and thanked Dorothy and all the donors for their kindness.
