Diocese of Kilmore -
Parish meetings will take place throughout the Diocese of Kilmore to discuss the content of the Bishop's Pastoral Letter and allow parishioners to express their opinions. This is an excellent chance for you to have your say and ensure that our Parish's views are heard. You are invited to participate in these meetings and thereby help prepare for the future together.
The meeting in our Parish will take place on Thurs 9 Nov after the 7:00pm Mass in Drumkeeran Church. People will get the opportunity of having a say in how the Parish will be administered and how Pastoral care will be given in the future. This will be a listening forum and not a decision making one. The main points will be sent to the Diocesan office with those of all the Parishes in the Diocese. All welcome.
If you are unable to attend, collect a form from your local church this weekend or download one from the website on the link below, and return it to the Parochial House by Fri 10 Nov or email it to newsletter@inishmagrath.com, so your thoughts and feelings may be included.
The questions the Diocese has asked us to discuss are:
1. Since priests are fewer and getting older, what are my fears or concerns about our faith in the future?
2 A training programme is being prepared for Pastoral Workers. What kind of skills and tasks should this focus on?
3. What preparations do we need to put in place, in conjunction with our neighbouring parishes, if we have less Masses and the possibility of no resident priest?
