Paddy McGowan RIP

The death has taken place of

Paddy McGowan

Geaglum, Drumkeeran.

Paddy died in the North West Hospice
on Wednesday, 5 October.

He was 72 years of age.

Creevelea, Drumkeerin and the wider communities
were greatly saddened by the news of his death.

A quiet and most sincere man,
he was a most obliging and helpful neighbour.

He had a great love and pride for Creevelea.
Whenever one fell into conversation with Paddy
time would slip by very quickly
as he spoke so lovingly and earnestly
of growing up in Creevelea,
of the close-knit community there
of his playing football with Creevelea and later Drumkeeran,
all cut short when he emigrated.

Paddy’s death at a relatively young age
is a sad blow to his sisters
Elizabeth, Mary and Teresa,
to his extended family
and to his many neighbours and friends.

Paddy’s funeral Mass took place in
St Brigid’s Church, Creevelea,
on  Saturday, 8 October.

Fr John Sexton celebrated the Mass.

Paddy was laid to rest in Kilbride Cemetery.
