Frances Flynn RIP

The death has taken place of

Frances Flynn

Phibsboro, Dublin

and formerly Greaghnaslieve

Frances died in St Mary’s Hospital, Phoenix Park, Dublin,

on Easter Sunday, 16 April.

She was 95 years of age.

Frances was born on 13th July, 1921,
the daughter of Patrick and Mary Flynn, of Greaghnaslieve.

Though Frances would spend most of her life away from her native Drumkeeran,

her home and her family hear always held a special place in her heart.

She made regular visits back home.

She went to England where she trained as a nurse.

On her return to Dublin she specialised as a psychiatric nurse
and worked in a number of Dublin hospitals.
She was totally dedicated to her calling
and to the patients in her care.

Frances had a lively and outgoing personality,
that always brought a ray of sunshine into the lives of all who knew her.

She was also a lady of deep faith,

a faith that shaped her life as a nurse

and that was the source of her profound generosity and charity.

Her funeral Mass was celebrated in St Brigid’s Church, Drumkeeran,

on Wednesday, 19 April.

Her good friend of many years,
Fr Kevin O’Rourke MHM, gave the homily.

Frances is survived by her sisters
Breda (Dublin) and Mary (New York)

And by her sister-in-law
Mary Flynn,
College View, Drumkeeran.
